EDGAR OF THE WEB: WEBEDGEDDON


WEBEDGEDDON is the culmination of EDGAR's plans. WEBEDGEDDON is the new web product/service/product-as-a-service that will change everything. However, EDGAR still needs to actually... like... make it.

You are here because you want to be part of this super-elite team of hyper-influential mega-people. You will have the chance to prove your worth at EDGE OF THE WEB. EDGAR is using his vast wealth to fund an unlimited number of project groups throughout the day. You'll earn cred by creating and joining groups, accomplishing missions, and various other shenanigans.

EDGAR OF THE WEB: WEBEDGEDDON is not a game: it is serious business. However, there are prizes.

How do I WIN?

You win by joining the right project groups, and by getting the right people to join your groups. You can only be part of one group at a time.

At the start, there are no project groups. Anyone can create a new group at any time by SMSing the following to 0421 267 887:

create projectname e.g. create sploozle

And anyone can join a group at any time by SMSing the following to 0421 267 887:

join projectname e.g. join sploozle

  • When someone joins the group you're in, everyone in your group will score cred according to the description on your card. All cards belonging to everyone in your group work simultaneously when someone joins you.
  • Every hour, everyone in your group scores 1 cred per group member. So a group of 5 will score 5 cred each.
  • When you leave a group, you lose a random amount of cred from 5 to 10. This applies whether your join an existing group, or create a new one.
  • Additional opportunities to earn cred will present themselves to you as the day goes on.
  • Have you heard about the Illuminternati? Finding them will score you major cred.

Here are some tips that someone found in the official strategy guide:

  • It's all about good combinations of group members. Different cards have different effects. Find out what the other cards do, and think about a good growth strategy.
  • Although leaving a group hurts you in the short term, it may be worth it in the long run.
  • There's actually a cheat code that gets you an instant 50 cred.

What do I GET when I win?

Those with the most cred at the end will be invited to join the other Web-Gods on Mount Olymp.us. But if that isn’t motivation enough, there are also prizes:

  • 1st and 2nd place: Limited edition Crumpler bags(!)
  • 3rd, 4th and 5th place: Unlimited edition Crumpler bags(!)
  • Group with most collective cred: Crumpler pouches + certificates(!)
